Become a cohost

When Carol and Shaun created Chirpy, their passion was to make a difference in the lives of so many lonely men and women over 50's. They have experienced the pain of loneliness and know first-hand the challenges that come with feeling alone. So, we thank you beyond words for wanting to help us make a difference.

We don't take your volunteering lightly. We know you are busy and for you to take time out of your week to make a difference in your community is one of the greatest gifts you can give. As a thank-you, we offer the following rewards:

• As a CoHost, you will receive a 50% discount on the cost of your membership.
• You will receive ongoing training and support from our designated Host Team Leader.
• You will be able to list catchups for the group, and track RSVP’s which will make it easier to make reservations. 
• We will provide you with a co-host pack, which will include name tags and a Chirpy sign to make it easier for members to find you at catchups. 

As a Chirpy cohost, you are our front line; you are the face of Chirpy in your community. Although we don’t like to be too formal, we do believe honesty is the best policy so here is what we ask of our co-hosts: 

• To hold at least two CatchUps per month. We understand for new groups or smaller groups that this isn’t always possible, and in those cases, only one CatchUp per month will be acceptable. 
• That as a co-host you will list CatchUps, in advance, to give members time to plan. 
• You will be responsible for making reservations with cafes and restaurants, please make sure you book these under Chirpy Plus - to avoid any confusion. 
• If possible, you snap a happy shot at a catchup and send it through to hosts@chirpyplus.com so this can be shared in the newsletter and on social media.
• That you have a positive attitude and share our vision of making a difference in our members' lives. Be creative, organise some fun activities. There are no limits - anything is possible!
• Provide any relevant feedback to the host team leader - they are there to support and help you, always!
