(Hosts) How to Create a Group Message
For Hosts only*
The tutorial below will take you through how to search and add members names to a group message. It will also show you how to add more members to this group as well as remove any as required.
As a host it will be very useful to create a group message for your CatchUp group so that you can easily message all of your group in one go!
Step 1: Open 'My Messages'.
Step 2: Click the '+' icon in the bottom left corner to create a new message.
Step 3: Add an optional Group Name.
It is important that you type a 'Group' or 'Virtual CatchUp name' for example to make the group chat easier to find.
Step 4: Search the members name by typing in their username in the search field next to the magnifying glass.
Click on the name that you want to add. The username looks blue with an 'x' next to it when it's been added.
Step 5: Add more members to the group by following steps typing in more names.
Step 6: Send your message and/or photos to your group. All messages sent in this group are visible by everyone in the group.
Once someone has read the message, there will be a notification in the bottom right of the chat screen indicating who has read the latest message.
Step 7: Removing members or adding members to the Group Message once created:
As the Host of the group you have the ability to add more members or remove them.
To do this, in the group message itself, click the 'Options' button in the top right corner.
Then click on 'View people in thread'.
Then the 'Add members' button appears as well as the subtract symbol next to the existing group members to remove anyone from the group message if required.
